If you are hired to work full-time at Camp Seggie, you will be involved in 8 weeks of camp for kids ages 5-15. In addition, you will attend our training session during the final week of June, to be well-prepared for the summer ahead.

Summer Manager
Minimum Age: 21. Starting at $675/week. Start date May 29
Description: This person will be a manager and mentor to the Staff. They are responsible for overseeing the safe and energetic operation of each week of camp. They and their Leadership Staff carry a major part of the responsibility for having a positive and effective camp season. This person will mentor, supervise, encourage, and evaluate the Staff and their Campers. They will ensure staff morale & well-being are addressed as needed. They will be well prepared to ensure that all staff are trained in advance of the season to enable them to have the skills, resources, training and feedback necessary to carry out their role to the best of their ability. They will be a point of contact for questions or concerns of parents and they are accountable directly to the Camp Board.
Duties Include:
– Maintain a daily personal time with God.
– Coordinate with the Camp Board during pre-season to prepare the camp property for the summer.
– Help to train and instruct staff; making advance preparations for training week.
– Plan and execute the L.I.T Program training weekend preseason.
– Contact and schedule evening chapel speakers for each week.
– Meet with leadership members on a weekly basis to provide feedback, encouragement and prayer.
– Complete two formal evaluations of all Staff assisted by Camp Life Coordinator (mid-summer and end of summer).
– Supervise/oversee the Staff and Campers throughout the day and address issues that arise.
– Handle any concerns over the performance of Staff members and address it accordingly.
– Report any issues to the assigned HR Board member.
– Oversee problems that arise from campers and/or discipline issues.
– Assist in the guidance and direction of the weekly volunteers.
– Show and be an example of positive personal and spiritual mentorship to the staff.
Camp Life Coordinator
Minimum Age: 18. Starting at $543.75/week.
Start date: June 25
Description: Responsible to mentor and meet with every staff member each week, especially in regard to their spiritual, physical and emotional health.
Duties Include:
– Maintain a daily personal time with God.
– Work closely with the Summer Manager to ensure all staff are encouraged to grow spiritually and have the necessary support (spiritual, physical, emotional) to look after their Campers.
– Primarily meet one on one with Junior and Senior Cabin leaders on a regular basis to provide feedback, encouragement and prayer.
– Plan and execute age appropriate morning chapels each day.
– Be able to organize and lead daily Staff Devotions.- Attend weekly staff meetings and clearly communicate various plans or address any issues.
– Organize and lead fun staff activities to be done in the evenings and or on breaks.
– Distribute and collect Staff Weekly Commentaries, and work alongside Summer Manager to appropriately address and resolve items arising from staff commentaries.
– Work alongside the Summer Manager to complete two formal evaluations of all Staff (mid summer and end of summer).
– Manage the staff clothing order, including preparing the order, arranging purchase and distribution.
– Assist with problems that arise from campers.
– Expected to be ready, willing, and able to participate in any other aspect of Camp Life as asked by other Leadership members or the Summer Manager.
– Show an example of personal and spiritual mentorship to the rest of the staff.
Administrative Coordinator
Minimum Age: 18. Starting at $543.75/week. Start Date: May 1
Description: This person is the voice for the camp, in the sense that they are the first person most parents talk to. They are responsible to maintain an orderly office, register campers, issue communications, answer correspondence, organize special projects, ensure proper paperwork for Staff and Campers are completed and filed.
Duties Include:
– Maintain a daily personal time with God.
– See to it that all registrations of Campers are complete and properly recorded.
– Take the lead during Registration Days, ensuring that all campers are properly checked-in.
– Answer phone calls, emails, faxes, letters and website correspondence in a timely manner.
– Prep and print all necessary registration forms and camper information forms for the Cabin Leaders.
– Mentor and train various Junior Staff as they do assigned work on appropriate administrative tasks.
– Ensure all notifications and mail outs are issued (receipts, confirmations, refunds, thank-you letters, etc.
– Balance weekly deposits and provide calculated employee hours to the Board of Directors.
– Oversee special projects as they come up (organizing Christmas Letters, Thank You Letters, Mass Mail Outs, Sharewage letters, etc.)
– Show an example of personal and spiritual mentorship to the rest of the staff.
– Help with campers and staff as needed.
Aquatics Coordinator
Minimum Age: 17. Starting at $543.75/week.
Start date: June 25
Description: This person is responsible for overseeing the summer aquatic program. This requires lifeguarding during pool & beach activities. Up-keep for the swimming pool, WIBIT and water slide is also a key part of this role. Must have current NLS certification.
Duties Include:
– Maintain a daily personal time with God.
– Lifeguard pool and waterfront, at scheduled times.
– Schedule and direct other aquatic staff, or assistant lifeguards.
– Ensure all campers will have a scheduled time to use the WIBIT throughout the week (in cooperation with the Program Coordinator).
– Assist with First Aid or other nursing requirements of Campers or Staff.
– Maintain the swimming pool, WIBIT and water slide. This includes chemical balancing, ordering supplies, pool cleaning and basic repairs.
– Ensure all aquatics equipment is properly stored throughout the summer and properly stored at the end of summer for the offseason.
– Show an example of personal and spiritual mentorship to the rest of the staff.
– Help with campers as needed.
– Expected to be ready, willing, and able to participate in any other aspect of Camp Life as asked by other Leadership members or Summer Manager.
Senior Cabin Leader
Minimum age: 16. Starting at $543.75/week. (4 male and 4 female positions available).
Start Date: June 29
Duties Include:
– Maintain a daily personal time with God.
– Keep campers safe, ensure they have a great time and are encouraged towards a deeper faith in God.
– Provide spiritual nurturing and encouragement; leading Bible studies and praying with and for campers in your cabin.
– Provide leadership, supervision and care to the campers each week; encourage general childcare basics – maintaining good hygiene, nourishment, proper rest, first aid, etc.
– Provide mentoring and leadership to Junior Cabin Leaders.
– Develop excellence in your instruction of assigned elective(s).
– Participating in camp games and activities with the goal of encouraging campers to have as much fun as possible.
– Assisting members of the Leadership Team when requested.
Junior Cabin Leader
Minimum age: 14 as of May 2023. Camp Contribution: $0 (volunteer position) Fundraising Goal: $500 (share-wage program) (a total of 14 positions available – 7 male and 7 female)
Start date: June 28
These positions will be full time throughout the summer.
Term of Service: First day of Training Week, ending the last day of camp

– Provide safe continued instruction and encouragement to campers at your assigned elective(s).
– Participating in camp games and activities with the goal of encouraging campers to have as much fun as possible.
– Assisting members of the Leadership Team when requested.
– Reporting to their Senior Cabin Leader.
Program Coordinator
Minimum Age: 18. Starting at $543.75/week. (One position available)
Start date: June 25
Description: This person is responsible for helping to create the heartbeat of Camp. This position has two main components: One, to create a positive experience that campers will never forget through themes that capture their imagination. Two, to implement the daily schedule of camp.
Duties Include:
– Maintain a daily personal time with God.
– Keep campers safe, ensure they have a great time and are encouraged in their faith in God.
– Keep an organized and clean office and other program storage areas.
– Plan and execute exciting, weekly program schedules that the staff and campers will find engaging.
– Communicate activity instructions in clear, creative ways.
– Create and perform exciting weekly themes appropriate to given age groups.
– Plan and lead camp-wide activities such as group games and challenges.
– Ensure the proper equipment is at each activity/elective station and in good working condition; order, with approval, new program equipment when necessary.
– Work with the Aquatics Coordinator when scheduling waterfront activities including pool, WIBIT, or beach times.
– Keep the staff motivated and excited in regard to the program.
– Make oneself available for morning meetings, when applicable, to give clear feedback and communicate expectations; make oneself available to the Cabin Leaders or other Staff for feedback, questions and new ideas.
– Expected to be ready, willing, and able to participate in any other aspect of Camp Life as asked by other Leadership members or Summer Manager.

Camp Cook
Minimum Age: 18. Starting at $543.75/week.
Start date: June 25
Description: This person is to plan, prepare and cook age-appropriate meals; order supplies; order food and ensure kitchen equipment is in good working condition. They are responsible to work with other kitchen staff in providing three healthy meals and one snack a day to the Campers and Staff.
Duties may include:
– Maintain a daily personal time with God.
– Maintain the meal budget set out at the beginning of the summer.
– Order sufficient food and supplies.
– Develop weekly menus.
– Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment as set out by the Department of Health.
– Ensure proper food preparation standards are followed by everyone in the kitchen.
– Preparing 3 meals and a snack most days.
– Discuss special food allergies/concerns with Camper parents and Staff to make accommodations when it is reasonable.
– Prepare special staff meals like the mid-summer and year-end staff feasts.
– Make available special food for staff members on occasion such as BBQ meat, special desserts, etc.
– Expected to be ready, willing, and able to participate in any other aspect of Camp Life as asked by other Leadership members or Summer Manager.
– Show an example of personal and spiritual mentorship to the rest of the staff.
Facilities Coordinator
Minimum Age: 18. Starting at $543.75/week.
Start date: June 25
Description: Responsible for overseeing the efficiency and cleanliness of the main buildings as you provide leadership for the efforts of a facilities team (multiple staff and LIT will be assigned to help with the given duties); schedule and train teams; oversee meal serving, cleaning, dish pit, bathroom; safely manage the inventory of necessary chemical products. Also responsible for running the Tuck shop (camp store).
Duties Include:
– Maintain a daily personal time with God.
– Ensure proper food preparation standards are followed by everyone in the kitchen.
– Supervise meal serving; ensure a team is trained and prepped and that meals are served quickly and efficiently. This requires working closely with the cooks.
– Train full and part-time staff in how to clean properly and how best to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies.
– Create schedules for cleaning and maintaining camp buildings.
– Ensure that all buildings are clean and in good repair, and items such as lost and found articles are gathered and stored, litter cleaned up and properly disposed of.
– Ensure the Tuck shop is stocked, and that sufficient staff are scheduled and trained to run it during Tuck times; give supervision and feedback so that it runs as quickly and smoothly as possible.
– Assist or lead devotions for the cleaning staff and LIT.
– Expected to be ready, willing, and able to participate in any other aspect of Camp Life as asked by other Leadership members or Summer Manager.

Property Coordinator
Minimum Age: 18. Starting at $543.75/week.
Start date: June 25
Description: Responsible for overseeing the camp property including lawn care, painting, sanitation, and small repairs. Generally, 1-2 staff will be assigned to help with the given duties, so organizing and training teams is very important. Responsible for keeping the property shed organized and stocked and will be asked to do various property and construction projects.
Duties Include:
– Maintain a daily personal time with God.
– Ensure that the property and buildings are in good repair and appearance.
– Perform painting and small repairs of camp equipment and buildings.
– Arrange to have lawn cutting and whipper snipping done either by yourself or in communication with our lawn care subcontractor, as directed. Plan appropriate times to have the yard work done that doesn’t interfere with programming.
– Make and complete repair lists based on staff input.
– Order necessary building materials under the supervision of the Summer Manager.
– Inform Summer Manager of the need to line up subcontractors to complete more complicated projects if needed.
– Follow the camp budget and prioritize based on time, resources and importance.
– Expected to be ready, willing, and able to participate in any other aspect of Camp Life as asked by other Leadership members or Summer Manager.
